Carole and Lauren are also joined by the dogs Gus, in the foreground and Franklin in the background. Gus keeps anyone for taking things too seriously. Franklin is the resident napper, sleeping enough for all of us, but will step in for pest control when ever a groundhog comes around.

how we got here

Carole,  grew up in rural Iowa on her family's farm. When she left for college she was interested in pursing work that allowed her spend most of her days outside and live in rhythm with the seasons. She graduated with a degree in Environmental studies intending pursue work as an environmental educator. But after one year volunteering on a farm in Iowa she knew found work she loved. She came to Maine to work for a season and never left. She fell in love with the culture, people and places here. After four years of working on others', including a few years dabbling in flowers while working for others, she decided the 2017 season was time to step out on her own. Carole was accepted into MOFGA's farmer-in-residence program for the 2017-2018 seasons. Which has been an invaluable resource allowing her to jump start the farm.
